• Read Act 1 of The Crucible and analyze the stage directions in the Abby and Proctor scene to determine their attitudes toward each other and to understand their complex relationship.
• Watch a scene from the film and compare to the play.
• Write a paragraph that explains how Abigail and Proctor's relationship defies Puritan beliefs using evidence from the play and notes on Puritanism.
